2 word utterances often grammatically correct even though words are omitted e.g. "mummy happy"

Telegraphic stage (18-38 months)
3/4 word utterances that are more grammatically correct. May still omit auxiliaries, articles etc. But a stage of rapid learning, so may learn to use determiners, inflectional affixation etc. can't use passive voice still

Post-telegraphic stage (36 months+)
Sentences with multiple clauses and grammar used in more complex ways, can sustain conversation
