1 of 9
How are elements organised?
Elements are organised by their atomic number numerically
2 of 9
How do you work out the number of neutrons in an element?
You subtract the atomic number from the atomic mass. For example, mass of 19=9-10. 10 neutrons

Which group of metals are the most reactive?
Group 1 and 2, group 1 is referred to as the alkali metals.

What does the middle section of the periodic table show?
Transition metals.
5 of 9
Which group of non-metals is the most reactive
7, the halogens.
6 of 9
Which group is the least reactive?
8/0, the noble gases.
7 of 9
What does the group number tell you?
The number of electrons on the atoms outer most shell. It also tells you how reactive they are. For example, group 1 most reactive non metals as they only need to lose one electron in order to become stable.
