What are the gases present in the air?
Nitrogen (78%) Oxygen (21%) Carbon Dioxide (

What is the test for Hydrogen?
Collect the colourless gas. Hold a burning splint in the gas. It burns with a squeaky pop!

What is the test for oxygen?
Hold a glowing splint in the colourless gas. If it relights, the gas is oxygen.

What is the test for carbon dioxide?
Bubble the gas through colourless limewater and if it forms a white precipitate (cloudy) the gas is carbon dioxide.

What is the other test for carbon dioxide?
Pour the gas over a burning flame. If it extinguishes, the gas is carbon dioxide.

What is the test for water vapour?
Expose the water vapour to blue cobalt chloride paper, and it will turn pink. (Works with liquid water)
