Define Molarity (M).
Molarity is the number of moles of a substance or solute dissolved in enough solvent to make 1 liter of solution.
1 of 8
Define Electrolytes
Electrolytes are substances which dissolve in water to produce conducting solutions of ions.
2 of 8
Define Non electrolytes
Non electrolytes are substances which do not produce ions in aqueous solution.
3 of 8
Define Precipitation reactions.
Precipitation reactions are processes in which soluble ionic reactants (strong electrolytes)
yield an insoluble solid product called a precipitate.
4 of 8
Define Acid-base neutralization reactions.
Acid–base neutralization reactions are processes in which an acid reacts with a base to
yield water plus an ionic compound called a salt.
5 of 8
Define oxidation-reduction reactions.
Oxidation–reduction reactions, or redox reactions, are processes in which one or
more electrons are transferred between reaction partners (atoms, molecules, or ions).
6 of 8
Define spectator ions.
Spectator ions are ions whose only role is to balance the charge.
7 of 8
State the use for titration.
Titration is a procedure for determining the concentration of a solution by allowing a
measured volume of that solution to react with a second solution of another substance (the
standard solution) whose concentration is known
