what is the behaviourist approach?
the approach rejects the simplicity of introspection, can be known as the 'learning theory' and mainly uses observation

what is classical conditioning?
in 1907 ivan pavlov saw how dogs acted and made his own research and applied it to humans, using a positive to influence and change outcomes

what is operant conditioning?
in 1946 burrhus skinner observed rats and how they act in this situation involves shocks and food (skinner box), uses the idea of reinforcement

what is reinforcement?
it follows an operant response that increase the likelihood of that response occurring in the future

what is positive reinforcement?
when the end result is positive such as food or being praised

what is negative reinforcement?
occurs when something is taken away or harms you such as shocks or lack of food
