Describe evolution by natural selection
Make copies of themselves eg bacteria, there will be a mutation which is rare but may make them more likely to survive, those that survive will then make copies and they will carry the same traits.

Heritable variation, differential reproductive success (peppered moth).

How did evolution happen?
Our ancestors had physical and behavioural adaptations that allow us to obtain food/avoid predators/reproduce & protect children eg disgust.

What is selfish gene therapy?
Genes produce behaviours that benefit copies of themselves.

What is Hamitton's rule?
Altruistic behaviour benefits relatives as long as the benefit to the recipient is less than the cost to the actor multiplied by relatedness, species will act more altruistically to sibling than to cousins.
