  • name of the bill and main aims are read out, then a formal vote is taken (5, 7)
  • Public consultation for a new law (5, 5)
  • the Monarch signs the bill. She cannot refuse it as this is only a symbolic stage as the head of the state. Bill is now an Act of Parliament (5, 6)
  • these amendments are reported back to the house, who then vote on the proposed amendments (6, 5)
