A place is more than a location. It differs to the abstract meaning of space because places have meaning people. Space becomes place a we get to know it better.

Consciousness of, and loyalty to, a distinct region with a population that shares similarities.

Loyalty and devotion to a nation which creates a sense of national consciousness. Patriotism could be considered and example of a sense of place.

Perspective of someone who knows a place well. Is familiar with not only the topography but also its daily rhythm and events.

Outsider
The perspective of someone who doesn't know a place well. May be marginalised in a community, such as homeless or perhaps minority groups.

An experienced place is somewhere you have been and know from experience.

Media places are places that we haven't experienced, instead we only know about them them through email.

These are external influences of a places identity. They are caused by a places relationship with other places. Relationship of one place with other places (external).

The process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale.

De-industrialisation
The reduction of industrial activity or capacity in a region or economy.

Disporas
Movement of people from one place to another place.

Counter urbanisation
Counter urbanisation is when large numbers of people move from urban areas into surrounding countryside or rural areas.
