The leg is relaxed and its weight is supported by the thigh. The joint in the leg is then tapped with a rubber hammer.
reflex testing

Measured with either a digital or oral thermometer. Placed in the correct location e.g. forehead/mouth and remains in place long enough to record a temperature e.g. 30 seconds.

Using a sphygmomanometer, place a cuff around the arm above the elbow and inflate the cuff to prevent blood flow from the artery. Air is slowly let out of the cuff leaving enough space for the compressed artery to let blood through.

A small metal dish which channels sound along two tubes to the GP's ears and identifies abnormal sounds from the lungs, heart and chest.
