type A-competitive, impatient, agressive, higher risk of CHD as result of stress type B-relaxed, non-competive, less stressed and Hardy-control, commitment and challenge, likely to be able to deal with stress better

use the SRRS to determine levels of stress and look at the illness record (due to stress) of 800 buisness excutives, high-stress low illness socred high on charcteristics of hardiness

Maddi et al- during phone company downsizing, 2/3rd stress reated illness, 1/3rd didnt, they showed signs of hardiness

What were the limitations of Kobasa's study?
SRRS is self report, life changes affect people differently this is not taken into account and correlation does not mean causation
