What is a Joint?
Were two bones meet

What is a Ligament?
Tough, rounded, elastic fibre attaching bone to bone at a joint (stabiliser)

What is Cartilage?
Tough, felxible tissue which can be found at the end of boness to absorb impact and to prevent friction

What is Synovial fluid?
Found in the synovial joint to lubricate the joint

What is Synovial membrane?
Lining inside the joint capsule where synovial fluid is produced

What are Tendons?
Strong, non-elastic tissue attaching bone to muscle

What is a Compound fracture?
When the broken end of a bone comes through the skin

What is a Simple fracture?
Break of the bone under the skin

What is Greenstick fracture?
Pressure or impacy buckles or bends a bone but only partially breaks it

What is a Stress fracture?
An incomplete fracture of the bone which is usually caused by unusual repeated stress

What is Flexion and an example?
Decreasing the angle and Bicep curl

What is Extention and an example?
Increasing the angle and Tricep curl

What is abduction?
Taking away from the body

What is adduction?
Adding towards the body

What is rotation?
Side to Side around the long axis

What is a strain?
A soft tissue injury caused by the overstreching of the muscle.

What is a sprain?
Is a sft tissue unjury caused by the ancle of wrist joint twisting suddenly. It can tear ligaments at a joint and is extremly painful

How do you treat a soft tissue injury?
Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation
