What is the theory about/based on?
It is a theory based on deontological meaning it is an absolute theory of ethics. It is not based on duty or an imposed law, but it is based on our human nature and search for happiness/fulfillment. Eternal/unchanging law.

What are the three principles that Aquinas believes we need to use/follow in order to reach our specific telos (end)?
Synderesis > conscience / Phronesis > reason / Eudaimonia > final cause which should bring us in touch with God.

Explain the Synderesis principle
The first principle of Natural Law which means humans should have a natural desire to do good and avoid evil. It is another word for conscience as it is innate and seeks good over evil. We need to listen to our conscience as it is the "voice of God".

Explain the Phronesis principle
This can be explained as practical wisdom which is key when making MD. Reason is the only type of inclination that seperates us from plants and animals. Once we listen to our conscience,we need to apply our reasoning in order to reach the final step.

Explain the Eudaimonia principle
Our final cause is suppose to be happiness and fulfillment, in order to attain the highest level of existence which will put us in touch with God. Some regard this as "Heaven" because we become closer to God in this stage.

What are the 5 primary precepts?
Self preservation of the innocent/reproduction/educate children/worship God/living in society.

What are secondary precepts?
They are different to PP because they are not absolute rules, they help people work out what to do in a situation because they may fail/uphold PP. SP are to be interpreted depending on the situation you are in.

What is Proportionalism?
Certain acts are good/evil in themselves but you can break the laws surrounding these acts as long as you have a proportionate reason.
