Why do Roman Catholics use only the Church when making moral decisions?
Believe the Magisterium (Pope & Bishops) have been given the power by God to interpret the Bible for Catholics today; infallible guidance on moral behavior.

1. Voice of conscience the same as voice of God- Christians should follow it; God has given it to them. 2. St Paul and St Thomas Aquinas taught that Christians should use their conscience as the final part of decision making.

1. Teachings of Bible and Church have been translated- not directly from God. Teachings of Church come through Pope/Bishops- conscience God speaking directly to individuals. 2. Church says follow Conscience, Christians should follow Church.

1. People have mistaken the voice of God- Yorkshire Ripper claimed God told him to. 2. Christians follow Church/Bible know what they are doing is right and Christians agree. 3. If everyone followed conscience not laws society would become chaotic.
