Medea:

ὦ παγκάκιστε, τοῦτο γάρ σ᾽ εἰπεῖν ἔχω γλώσσῃ μέγιστον εἰς ἀνανδρίαν κακόν,

Oh utter coward, for that is what I can call you with my tongue, this is the greatest insult I can call you in unmanliness.

ἦλθες πρὸς ἡμᾶς, ἦλθες ἔχθιστος γεγώς;

Do you come to me, having been the worst enemy?

οὔτοι θράσος τόδ᾽ ἐστὶν οὐδ᾽ εὐτολμία, φίλους κακῶς δράσαντ᾽ ἐναντίον βλέπειν,

This is not courage nor boldness to look at your friends in the face when you have injured them badly,

ἀλλ᾽ ἡ μεγίστη τῶν ἐν ἀνθρώποις νόσων πασῶν, ἀναίδει᾽. εὖ δ᾽ ἐποίησας μολών:

but it is greatest diseases of men and shamelessness. You have done well in coming,

ἐγώ τε γὰρ λέξασα κουφισθήσομαι ψυχὴν κακῶς σὲ καὶ σὺ λυπήσῃ κλύων

and I having said bad things of you, I shall gain relief for my soul and you will suffer when you listen.

ἐκ τῶν δὲ πρώτων πρῶτον ἄρξομαι λέγειν:

For I will begin to say from the very beginning.

ἔσωσά σ᾽, ὡς ἴσασιν Ἑλλήνων ὅσοι ταὐτὸν συνεισέβησαν Ἀργῷον σκάφος, πεμφθέντα ταύρων πυρπνόων ἐπιστάτην ζεύγλαισι καὶ σπεροῦντα θανάσιμον γύην:

I saved you, as those Greeks who boarded the same ship Argo know, as a shipmate when you were sent as a master of the yoke of the fiery bulls, you would sew the deadly field.

δράκοντά θ᾽, ὃς πάγχρυσον ἀμπέχων δέρος σπείραις ἔσῳζε πολυπλόκοις ἄυπνος ὤν, κτείνασ᾽ ἀνέσχον σοὶ φάος σωτήριον.

And having killed the snake which (sleepless) kept safe the golden fleece by surrounding it with its many folded coils, I lifted up for you the light of salvation.

αὐτὴ δὲ πατέρα καὶ δόμους προδοῦσ᾽ ἐμοὺς τὴν Πηλιῶτιν εἰς Ἰωλκὸν ἱκόμην σὺν σοί, πρόθυμος μᾶλλον ἢ σοφωτέρα:

And having betrayed my father and my home I came together with you at the foot of mount Pelion, eager rather than wise.

Πελίαν τ᾽ ἀπέκτειν᾽, ὥσπερ ἄλγιστον θανεῖν, παίδων ὕπ᾽ αὐτοῦ, πάντα τ᾽ ἐξεῖλον δόμον.

I killed Pelias so as to die as painfully as possible, by means of his own daughter and destroyed the whole house.
