Personality moderates the physiological responses to stressors that an influence the subsequent likelihood of disease.

How does the transactional stress model explain the role of stress?
Personality influences exposure to stressful circumstances. (Think of introverts (avoid) and extroverts (deal with) in stressful situations)

Internal = believe our behaviour influences outcomes, external = outcome is out of our control.
