Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joesph Stalin and Winston Churchill had an alliance, Adolf Hitler was their "Common Danger".

RIVALRY Who were the superpowers before WW2? Why are they no longer Superpowers?
Britain and France were the 2 Superpowers before WW2, but after WW2 they both lost money and lots of people, they are poor. Britain is losing their Empire and France were occupied by Germany so they looked bad.

Who are the new Superpowers? Why?
America and the USSR are the new superpowers becaue they got involved in the war, they are rich, big, strong and still have lots of people. They could exercise real International Leadership.

SUSPICION / DISTRUST What is the difference between the USA and the USSR?
The USA is a democracy, buisinesses and property were privately owned and everyone had individual rights. The USSR was Communist, industry and property was state owned, indivisual rights were seen as unimportant so indivisuals were tighly controlled.

POTENTIAL CONFLICT Why?
Because all of the countries that had been occupied by Germany are "up for grabs", so there could be conflict over who gets what country.
