at 2 years a child can use 2 word statements, then short phrases, then able to ask questions, then use sentances. at 5/6 they use adult sentences and fair vocabulary. at 8 they understand and use speech with increasing vocabulary.

concrete operational period where shildren can work out problems logicallly using images and real life situations to assist them.

formal operational period at 12 where children can imagine things they haven't seen or done before. they can plan the future although they have a lack of experience and may make the wrong desicions

early adulthood (19-45)
intellectual skills increase providing oppertunities exist to excercise skills

middle adulthood (46-65)
may be slightly slower in working out logical problems, but knowledge increses to compensate. they can make better desicions due to increased experience.

knowledge continues to develop but may suffer from illness.

Alzheimers disease
reduced ability to comtrol emotions, difficulties in communication,difficulties in recognising people and places, unaware of where and what is going on around you, problems with daily life like hygeine and dressing.
