What is the key claim for Idealism?
There is no external world – no matter just minds and ideas.

Yes but it is made up of ideas (sense data) we percieve

Why does not being able to conceive matter support idealism?
Because it shows that we don't have direct experiences, we can't see mattter. So one how do we know it's there? and two if it is there we can't directly percieve it

What is a problem with idealism(Physical objects)?
Physical objects seise to exist when you stop perceiving them because they are sense data

What is berkleys reply to this?
God percieves everything continuesly

What is ad hoc?
A hypothesis adopted purely to save the thory from difficulty, they have no independant motivation

Why is Berkeleys argument of God ad hoc?
Because idealism now relys on God to work, but there is no independant justiforcation of God

What is a further difficulty with God?
Because, like matter, God is beyond experience

What is a final problem for sense data?
Ideas are private, therefore each individual would experience the world differently, could this work?

What is a primary quality?
The ideas which resemble their causes: texture, number, size, shape, motion

What is a secondary quality?
The ideas which do not resemble their causes: color, sound, taste, and odor.
