Recognises specific sequences of DNA and cut the DNA out at these points
2 of 8
Ligase enzymes
Used to join two pieces of DNA together
3 of 8
Recombinant DNA
Two different bits of DNA stuck together
4 of 8
Vector
Something that is used to transfer DNA into a cell. There are two types - plasmids and viruses
5 of 8
Plasmids
Small, circular molecules of DNA that can be transferred between bacteria
6 of 8
Viruses
Viruses insert DNA into the organisms they infect
7 of 8
