1) a lot of supporting evidence for retrieval failure theory

Baddley + Goodens study (CDF: underwater study) and Certer + Cassedy (SDF:drugs) support retrevial failure theory. eyesnick also said that he belived RFT is the main reason for forgetting in LTM... these studies mean the theory has good validity.

2) baddley says conext dependant forgetting (external) can only take place if the conditions are EXTREMELY different

baddley says that in the study by him + gooden the conditions were very different which meant the effects of CDF could be seen. he says the effects in everyday life are not that strong bcos there are no situations different enough to get these result

3) context dependant forgetting cannot be applied to all tests of memory (recall VS recognition)

baddley + godden re-did the study of the underwater divers... but instead of asking them to recall a list of words they asked them to just say whther they recognised the words from the list. the number of correct answers was same in all 4 conditions.

4) some real life application in the home

when you are upstairs and then run downstairs and forget what you came downstairs for. this is an example of context dependant forgetting bcos the external environment isnt the same. then when you go back upstairs you remember what you went down for
