  • teachers saw blacks as a threat and labelled them, this led to confrontation and often blacks were excluded which leads to self fullfilling prophecy
  • the curriculum didnt feature blacks as most books and history were about DWM, blacks often shown as slaves and this leads to low exoectations

  • street culture meant that failing was cool and a badge to wear, they would get hassle if they did well
