Great quiz but im sure the answer for question 24 is wrong? Phosolipids are made up of 2 fatty acids, a phosphate and a glycerol. Also 35 I believe has an incorrect answer because transcription happens in the nucleus, whilst translation happens on the ribosome in the cytoplasm. Thanks for the quiz :)

OMDAYS!! TRANSCRIPTION happens in the nucleus not ribosome, TRANSLATION happens in the ribosome which is found in the cytoplasm!! get your facts straight! YOUR GIVING PEOPLE THE WRONG INFORMATION..!!

You don't need to know about Sino-atrial node in edexcel Unit 1 biology. Also, it strictly says in the spec that you don't have to know about beta glucose.

Question 31

What is a codon?

  • Its a base of dna
  • A triplet that codes to start or stop the production of proteins
  • The part of dna that codes for proteins

A codon is a triplet of bases on DNA or RNA. They don't specifically have to code for the start or the end of a polypeptide chain. The codons that start and stop the chain are called start and stop codons. Please modify this question as all the options are wrong. Otherwise, its a very good quiz.

Macrophages are a type of White Blood Cell, they do not turn into them. Please get the facts correct.

Tawsif Patel has got it spot-on. A codon isn't just start/stop, but any triplet of bases coding for a particular amino acid.
