What happens to the Z lines when a muscle contracts?

What types of protein are involved in the myosin?
A fibrous protein (the tail) and a globular protein (the head)
4 of 5
What happens in muscle relaxation?
Calcium ions are actively transported into the endoplasmic reticulum using energy from hydrolysis of ATP. This allows tropomyosin to block the actin filaments again. Myosin heads are now unable to bind to actin filaments and the muscle relaxes.
