what does it mean if two triangles are congruent?
they are the same shape and size (but can be rotated/flipped)
1 of 8
what are the different ways you can tell if a triangle is congruent?
SSS, ASA, SAS, RHS
2 of 8
what is SSS (side side side)?
all 3 sides are the same on both triangles
3 of 8
what is SAS (side angle side)?
when you have two of the same sides with the same angle in between them
4 of 8
what is ASA (angle side angle)?
when you have two of the same angle and a corresponding side on both triangles
5 of 8
what is RHS (right-angle hypotenuse side)?
when both triangles have a right angle, the same hypotenuse length and an equal side
6 of 8
what is AAA (angle angle angle)?
something that does NOT prove if triangles are congruent but rather that they are similar. (triangles with the same angles could just be enlarged which is why it doesn't prove they are congruent)
7 of 8
what are some ways to tell that angles / sides are the same?
if they are corresponding, alternate, have a common side etc
