Melting (ice cube to water)
Evaporation (liquid to gas - water boiling)
Condensing (gas to liquid-steam back to water)
Freezing (water back to ice)
1 of 5
What is sublimation?
When a solid changes straight to gas without turning into a liquid. Like carbon dioxide (dry ice in solid form)
2 of 5
What happens to gas particles when you increase temperature?
The particles move faster.
In a container the particles hit the container wall harder and more often. This will increase the pressure.
3 of 5
What happens to gas particles when reduce the volume of gas?
It makes the pressure increase.
Because the particles are squashed up into a smaller space and hit the walls more often.
4 of 5
What is diffusion?
When particles want to spread out.
When a smell spreads slowly through the room (like one of Daddy's trumps!)The smell moves from an area of high concentration (Daddy's bum) to an area of low concentration (the other side of room)
