how has the plum pudding model developed?
we thought that atoms were electrons spreading through a ball of positive charge.so they shot positive particles were fired at a sheet of atoms, they should have passed straight throught, but some deflected meabing there was a concentration of mass and po

traids(grouping similar elements in sets of three)
56 of 58
in 1865 by jhon newlands put the elements in order of relative atomic mass....
he found every eighth element was similar and his patter was known as Newland law of octaves. Unfortunately his pattern only worked for the first fifteen elements or so
57 of 58
in 1869 the problem was solved by a Russian names dimtri Mendeleev and he also tried putting the elements in order of atomic mass.
he left gaps in his table which were claimed were for elements that had not yet been discovered. he was doubted by other scientists bit he predicted properties of elements that would fill the gaps
