Participants should be fully informed about the nature of the research- participant's experiences of the research should also be discussed. It takes place after an investigation.
Debriefing

Information must not be withheld from participants, nor should they be misled.

Some psychological/physical problems may be identified during research, if there are any participants can get advice from the researcher.

You are responsible for the ethical conduct of your own research, and of your colleagues. If a colleague may be following an unethical procedure, you should raise the concern with them and encourage them to re-evaluate what they are doing.
Colleagues

Participants have the right to withdraw at any time regardless if they are getting paid or not. They should be told this before the experiment starts. They can also withdraw at a later stage in the experiment after it has been conducted.

If someone is going to participate in research, they must have their consent. Parents consent must be obtained if the participant is under 16.

Protect the privacy and psychological well-being of those observed. Participants should not be observed in situations where they would not normally expect others to observe their behaviour.

Psychologist's have responsibility for protecting their participants from physical/mental harm. Risk of harm to a participant must not be greater than that they are exposed to in every day life.
