In 2012, BBC moved HQ to Salford Quays from London. Salford Quays is located in Greater Manchester, England. Is South of the M602 and North of Stratford.

TV and film industry not well distributed - 65% is made in London. Better if more programmes made beyond M25 to make it more regional. Facilities were old. Modern building - capture peoples attention. New infrastructure, better services. Cheaper land

People have had to move their families 200 miles away to keep jobs. Better services provided to the 17 million licence payers in the North. In October 2011, University of Salford opened a digital learning campus for 1500 students.
