wouldn't worry about the depth this goes into, most of this is not likely to come up as a direct question, but may be needed for applied knowledge Thanks, really in depth (doing triple science GCSE)

the revision guides don't go into much depth so i doubt alot of this would be in them, i think most of this stuff is in the textbook and i've been taught all of it in school for the unit 3 aqa, this is just the a/a* knowledge stuff

Ok, apologies to everyone who isn't happy with the questions because they're not on your syllabus, but I can promise you, everything on this quiz was on the syllabus I did and most of it came up on the exam last year.

To rule out any conclusion and anybody else getting irate with me, this test is for AQA, SEPARATE SCIENCES STUDY, BIOLOGY, as written in 2009.

im soo sure you dont need to know how many gillls a fish has and the spelling needs checking. overall i think it was a hard test

Like I said before, I needed to know it for the syllabus we did.

Jess

Report

good test but some of the more specific examples like the coeliac disease one you dont need to know

you just have to know how to apply knowledge to qs like that not actually know all the facts about them

also we havnt done any of that surface area stuff :s

Lydia Skeels

Report

Question 3 is wrong: it's the trachea which leads to the tracheoles, not the other way round.

Thanks for the polite comments guys! Good luck with the exam tomorrow, those of you who have it!

Tom O'Neill

Report

Good quiz 86%, and yeah this is all there

Glad you put some questions in about gas exchange surfaces in other organisms, really useful :)

loo

Report

This test is terrible, question 3 is wrong, the trachea leads into the tracheoles, and for question 4 apparently the correct answer is: Insects loose a lot of water because they have a small surface area. which i think is incorrect, they loose a lot of water because they have large surface areas in relative to their volume. Also many key words are spelt incorrectly such as "tracheoles" which is spelt "tracheloes" in the test and also "palaside" is spelt wrong, it should be "palisade".

Well you got the meaning despite minor spelling errors. Nobody's perfect.

And can people please stop leaving comments like this...
The test is clearly ok because some people understand it just fine and it got me an A* at GCSE so stop slagging me and it off.

Again, thank you for those of you with polite comments!

Great test , but maybe work on the spelling

useful as i didnt know most of the stuff

but overall great :) Thanks

Ignore what they're saying, this test was awesome & i got %85 but how i was certain with what i put down, but ow well %85 is still good

Kathryn

55% thats a D :( ....but i think i'm with a different exam board because most of those questions were either in my unit 1 or are not on my paper :) i'm sitting biology unit 3 aqa on the 13th january :S :D ..thanks anyway it made me realise what i need to revise

nehal

Jennifer Scoular

pretty good, not too useful for AQA exam board tho x

P. Hayman

Good test, however, I agree that some, that a few questions related to unit 2. More questions are needed to cover biogasess, yeast, micro-orgs and the affects of exercise on the body. You may need to sort out the typo's.

Anita

Report

Some things about Unit 2 in here, like the people above said. It's ok, but I'm the type of person who gets put off easily by spelling and some of your questions just really annoyed me after a while xD

Overall, it is good, but just check your spelling.

P.S. I thought it was "Selective Absorption", not "Selective Reabsorbtion"? Any difference in them?

Thanks :D

Josh

Report

Good quiz, but one mistake:

Question 3 is FALSE.  The spiracles are NOT the site of gaseous exchange in insects, they are just the holes which lead to the TRACHEA and THEN the TRACHEOLES, not the other way round.  What you are implying by that question is that the spiracles lead to the tracheoles first and then the trachea, which they don't.

Otherwise, good quiz :)
