What is diffusion?
Diffusion is where molecules move from a area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
1 of 6
How long does diffusion last for?
Diffusion continues until the concentration is equal. this is called dynamic equilibrium.
2 of 6
Can diffusion take place in solids?
No, only liquids and gases. Diffusion is faster in gases.
3 of 6
What happens to the rate of diffusion if there is a big difference in concentration?
Diffusion will be happening faster.
4 of 6
What happens if we increase temperature?
The amount of kinetic energy will increase, resulting in more collisions, causing the rate of diffusion to increase.
5 of 6
Are small molecules faster than large molecules?
Yes, due to this the rate of diffusion increases. This is because there will be more collisions. Molecules with a stream lined shape move faster.
