DNA mutations in stem cells which cause too many white blood cells to be produced

How can they diagnose ALL?
CT scan, chest x-ray and a bone marrow biopsy

Define stage 1:
Induction - an initial stage which kills the leukemia cells in the bone marrow and restores the balance of red/white blood cells

Define stage 2:
Consolidation - kills any remaining leukemia cells in the central nervous system

Define stage 3:
Maintenance - Involves taking regular doses of chemotherapy tablets to prevent it returning

Name the 4 treatments given:
Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Steroidtherapy and bone marrow and stem cell transplants
