Bowel Cancer Individual Physical Impacts:

•May have to have a stoma

•May have permanent scars if had surgery

•May have bleeding from the bowel initially

•May suffer from Tenesmus – feel like they need to go to the toilet all the time even if the bowel is empty

•May have a fissure -  some people develop a split in the skin (a fissure) where the back passage opens to the outside of the body

•Bowel control problems

•May develop a food intolerance
