What is Quality Assurance?
A company’s commitment to quality at every stage of the design and manufacture process, including the training of the workforce and the way in which problems are dealt with.

What is Quality Control?
Quality control is an important part of manufacture and manufacturers need to make sure that the goods they produce are of an acceptable standard, so they fall within pre-determined tolerances.

What is the tolerance level?
The degree of accuracy needed so product parts can fit together. There is usually an upper and lower limit.

How is a system of quality control set up?
Inspecting a sample of the products as they are made.

How is a system of quality control useful?
Can help to identify if a particular machine is close to unacceptable tolerance levels, so it can be repaired

Why might timing need to be considered when adding control checks?
May be too late to do anything about it (e.g. once a pocket has been sewn on)
