ROM
Read-Only Memory
5 of 15
It is used to temporarily hold instructions and data that the CPU is likely to reuse.
Cache
6 of 15
It is the brains of a computer.
Central Processing Unit
7 of 15
A register in which intermediate arithmetic logic unit results are stored.
Accumulator
8 of 15
Stores the address of each instruction and tells the CPU in what order they should be carried out.
Program counter

Register
Registers are small amounts of high-speed memory contained within the CPU. They are used by the processor to store small amounts of data that are needed during processing.
12 of 15
What are the effects of using a processor with more cores?
More instructions can be carried out simultaneously
13 of 15
What are the effects or using a processor with a faster clock speed?
More instructions carried out per second and so instructions are executed more quickly.
14 of 15
What are the effects of using a processor with a bigger cache?
More space for frequently used data, more storage for faster access than from RAM.
