Ozymandias
- 1817 - Written after hearing about how an Italian explorer had retrieved the statue from the desert.
- The Narattor meets a traveler who tells him about a statue from the dessert.
- The statue is of a king who ruled over a past civilisation.
- The statue has a proud face
In the inscription he boasts about his power.
Statue however, has crumbled away - only ruins remain
- Can suggest he has lost his power
- Crumbled as no one cares
London
- 1794 - William Blake
- William Blake believed in Social and Racial equality - questioned church teachings.
About : The narrator walking through London picking out the bad things he sees happening.
The Prelude : Stealing the boat
- 1850 - Published after the poets (William Wordsworth's) death
About : The Narrator found a boat and rowed it over the lake but a mountain appeared so he rows back with his views of nature changed.
My Last Dutchess

About : The Narrator admiring a painting of his late Dutchess, who he supposedly murdered as he was jealouse and scared she was cheating on him.
