The earth is supported by many factors including

The atmosphere- Plants absorb CO2 through photosynthesis (photoautotrophs) and release oxygen for animals to breath in.

Hydrological cycle- Trees and plants intercept and slow the flow of water to rivers. Plants increase the humidity by returning water to the atmosphere. This is called TRANSPERATION.

Soil health- Dead leaves and organic matter add nutrients to the soil. Insects and animals break up the dead organic matter and which is then broken down by enzymes released by the decomposers- the bateria and fungi.
