Nick realises Gatsby's impossible dream = "he wanted nothing less of Daisy than that she should go to Tom and say: 'I never loved you'." (p.70) Nick clearly has a more realistic view than Gatsby who's view is very idealistic and perhaps naive 

Gatsby's realisation = "the tanned skin was drawn unusually tight on his face and his eyes were bright and tired...it's hard to make her understand." (p.70) Gatsby realises his dreams aren't as in reach as he believes, this part in the novella is perhaps the beginning point of everything going wrong
