Covert Observation- Researchers status in the group being studied is unknown.
Closed Questions- Yes/no single worded answer questions (Simple questions)
Ethical Considerations- Certain aread of investigation may be unethical
Anonymity- Keeping a participants identity secret.
Confidentiality- Entrusting a researcher with secrecy, not to tell anyone
Informed Consent- Telling particpants that they will be observed
Experiments (field/laboratory)- A test under controlled conditions to test the hypothesis
Generalisations- A sterotype of a certain group or culture
Hypothesis- A prediction of what may happen in an experiment
Interviewer bias/Hawthorne effect- Interviewer influences the participant to say certain things
Longitudinal Studies- Studying people over a long period of time
Non-participant observation- The researcher watches the group but doesn't ineract with them.
