Social Learning Theory

  • learn behaviour directly(imitation) or indirectly(vicarious)
  • copy actions due to reinforcements

Bandura: child must go through 4 conditions:

  • attention: paying attention to the behaviour
  • retention: remembering behaviour thru mental images
  • reproduction: reproducing the image
    motivation: having a good reason to imitate.

Self efficiacy expectancies> child must have confidence in order to perform action.
