Key Words

Euthanasia = bringing about an early and painless death (literally translates to "a good death")

Voluntary Euthanasia = ending life painlessly for someone in great pain, when they request death

Non Voluntary Euthanasia = ending a persons life painlessly in their best interests, when they cannot ask EG: being in a coma, brain dead etc

Passive Euthansia = Just taking away a medicine, or stopping doing something that will eventually cause death

Active Euthanasia = Actually giving a patient something that will bring about a painless death

Immortality if the Soul = the idea that the soul lives on after the body has died

Paranormal = unexplained things which are thought to have spiritual/ magical cause, EG ghosts and spirits

Near Death Experience = when someone about to die (flatline) had an "out of body experience", people have claimed to see dead relatives and a bright white light

Abortion = the removal of a feotus before it can survive outside of the womb

Sanctity of Life = the belief that life is holy and comes from God

Resurrection = when after death, the body stays in the grave until the end of the world, when it is raised

Assisted Suicide = helping a seriously ill person to commit suicide

Quality of Life = the idea that life must feel like it is worth living

LAW:

The 1990 Abortion Act - states that no abortion can take place after 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

The 1967 Abortion Act - states that TWO DOCTORS must agree that either: there is a risk to the mother's life / the wellbeing of an existing child will be put at risk by the arrival of a new one / the mother's physical or mental health will be at risk (which most preganant women plead, because no one can prove that by having the child, she wouldnt be mentally damaged) / or that there is a substantial risk that the child will be seriously handicapped.
