Eysenck theory of personality- He developed a theory based on character traits whcih tend to fit into three dimensions.
Extraversion-Intraversion-extraverts are characterised as outgoing, having positive emotions, but may get bored easily.
Neuroticism-Stability-neurotisim is the tendency to experience negative emotion states e.g. anger, depression and anxiety rather than postitive emotional states.
Psychoticism-Normality- psychotics are egocentric, aggressive, impulsive, impersonal, lacking empathy and generally not concerned about the welfare of others.
These dimentions are normally distributed so you would expect about 68% of the population to fall into one of the standard deviation from the mean. He has a questionair to assess an idividuals personality type called the Eysencks Personality Questionair (EPQ).
