Beta-Blockers

  • Beta-blockers reduse activation of the cardiovascular system by slowing down activity in the Sympathetic branch of the ANS by reducing levels of Adrenaline and Noradrenaline.
  • They work by reducing heartrate, blood pressure and overall cardiac output.
  • Beta-blockers are also used to control Hypertension, Angina and reduce Migraine attacks.
  • They are not addictive.
  • Examples include Propranolol & Oxprenolol.
