Liturgical/Non Liturgical Worship (Part B)
-Liturgical Worship always follows an official set pattern or ritual
-tends to be very traditional, Roman Catholic and Protestant Churches
-liturgical calendars set out which liturgy should be used whe
-Orthodox Churches call Eucharist the 'Divine Liturgy'
-liturgical texts are Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship
-also use a lectionary, a table of Bible readings authorised for use during public worship, designed to ensure that as much of the Bible as possible is read during the year
-procession, litugical colours, hymns, confession of sins/absolution, set prayers, readings from Bible etc etc
-Non-liturgical worship don't have such an elaborate and prescribed form of worship
-churches include Baptism, Evangelical, Pentecostal and Charistmatic faith groups
-believe in an experience of the Holy Spirit, which can result in healing, prophecies and speaking in tongues
-Christians should be free to worship God as the Holy Spirit leads them
-characterised by a lack of ritual and formality, as well as the impact of the Holy Spirit

Baptism (Part A)
-initiation rite into the Christian faith and the Christian Church and is considered a sacrament by most Christian churches
-invovles making promises to God about living a Christian life
-water is a physical sign of cleansing and washing away original sin
-baptism is ordained by Jesus
-the believer is filled with the Holy Spirit, giving them the strength to live a very holy life
SOAs

Prayer (Part D)
-a way of communcating with God, bringing Christians closer to Him
-prayer is shown to be a sign of faith that will be rewarded by God, and invovles talking and listening to Him
-prayers can occur in many different ways
-people prayer to: achieve forgiveness, heal those who are ill, help those in need, give people strength, world peace, reduce poverty or achieve positive social or personal change
-The Lord's Prayer is what Jesus taught to his disciples and is formally used during most acts of worship
