Outline the problem of evil and Hick's soul making defence to it

?

The problem of evil is that if God exists, then God is omnipotent, omniscient and morally perfect.

If God is omnipotent, then God could stop evil. If God is omniscient, then he would know about the evil. If God is morally perfect, then he would want to stop the evil. Evil exists.

So either,

God does not have the power to eliminate all evil (so is not omnipotent), God does not know about the evil (so is not omniscient), God does not have the desire to stop evil (so is not morally perfect), or God does not exist.

Hick’s soul-making response to it is this:

P1: A world with creatures who are free is more valuable…
