If you wanted to buy a new pair of shoes, you could go to a traditional ‘high street’ shop or you could buy online. What are the advantages for a retailer (shop) in selling online instead of having a high street shop?

More people can access the shop online rather than having to leave their house and find the shop, meaning more people will actually buy their products. There is no closing time for an online store, so there is more time for sales. Online, people will often just look through everything, which could lead to impulse buying, whereas in store people will most likely get what they are looking for and then pay and leave.
