Structure of cells in a leaf:
Epidermis- thin an transparent allowing light through to inner cells
Palisade Cell- contains large amounts of chloroplasts to absorb light
Chloroplasts- found mainly down sides of palisade cells allowing light to reach mesophyll cells
Air spaces- Between mesophyll cells allow gases to diffuse easily and reach cells
Leaf adaptations:
BROAD- large surface area to absorb light
THIN- gases dont have to travel far and light can reach all way through
CHLOROPHYLL- in most of cells, makes leaf green
NETWORK OF VEINS- support and carry water and sugars to different parts of the plant
STOMATA- to allow gas exchange (Carbon dioxide diffuses into it and oxygen diffuses out)
GASES MOVE BY DIFFUSION
Osmosis:
OSMOSIS-…
