Observation - this is a non-experimental technique which looks for behaviours.
There are two types:
Unstructured - this does not involved behavioural categories or any pre-determined plan and instead involves recording behaviours as the observation is occuring.
Structured - This is when behavioural categories are established. These are the behaviours being observed within the observation.
Two types of sampling - in this context, sampling refers to how the data is collected.
Event - this is when any behaviour seen is recorded. A strength of this is that it records all behaviour within the time of observation. However, a weakness of this is that important behaviours could be missed whilst writing down.
Time - this is when behaviour is recorded at time intervals such as, every 30 seconds.…
