Crime remained pretty much the same as in Saxon England.

Punishment: Fines, greater emphasis on execution, mutilation, physical humiliation. Pretty much the same as in saxon england, however, execution was emphasised more to scare and deter criminals.

law enforcement: trial by ordeal still used but now trial by combat was introduced where criminals have to fight to the death or till one of them submitted, the loser was ruled guilty and the winner claimed righteousness. the laws were now written in french, 1070-murdrum fines for killin a norman lord were introduced and forest
