Milgram's obedience study


  • Milgram invited 40 male students to Yale university to assist with an experiment on "Learning through punishment"
  • The participants were introduced to the confederate, "Mr Wallace". The participant and the confederate then had to pick their role, teacher or learner (ppt always got learner).
  • They were taken to different rooms where the teacher was instructed to ask the learner some memory questions and then shock him if answered incorrectly. The shocks ranged from 15v…
