Althusser - Belives that the education system is an ideological status appartus passing on ruling class ideas to keep them in their ruling class positions. Schools pass on the ideologies that state society is fair and just and are taught to accept future exploitation - legitimating class inequality (False class consciousness). Ideologies are essential for social control, reporducing inequality by failing successive generations of W/C pupils.
